Our nation is run not by men, but by laws. A principle often associated with the rule of law, it implies that the country's operation and governance are not based on the decisions of individuals, such as political leaders or authorities, but on a legal system and established laws. The country' s balance and security rests upon these regulations.

Currently however, there has been a discussion about constitutional reform, also known as charter change (cha-cha), which refers to changes to be made to the current 1987 Constitution of the Philippines. This sparks a controversy on whether major changes to the constitution should be approved. On one hand, changing the constitution allows for adaptation of current global issues which benefit the people. On the other hand, reforming the law disrupts the stability and state of the nation.

Moreover, certain drawbacks give more reasons to oppose cha-cha. There is always the possibility of making bad decisions and having laws that don't benefit the people of the nation. It would also cause confusion and chaos among the people.

It is important to note that constitutional reform is a serious matter that requires careful thought and discussion. To make sure that any amendments to the constitution actually benefit the people and the nation as a whole, they must be thoroughly considered and assessed. It is crucial to strike a balance between progress and stability, and to take into consideration the long-term effects of any proposed changes. What is best for the country and its citizens should ultimately determine whether or not to adopt or reject the proposed changes to the charter.
